How to make a recipe in English?? Maths used in my kitchen!



  • ACTIVITY 1:


1.- Fill in the missing letters of the verbs expressed in the pictures.





  • ACTIVITY 2:


1.  Fill in the gap: 1 oz =                   g


2. How many ingredients should we use if we want to make 50 peppermint creams?


3. What about 70 peppermint creams?


4. How can we change the quantities in the ingredients to make four peppermint creams for each person in your group, including the teacher?


5. Write your own recipe for six and for eight people.



  • ACTIVITY 3:


1. How many ingredients should we use to make 32 biscuits?


2.- What about 28 biscuits?


3.- Write your own recipe for eighteen people. Guess how many biscuits each people will eat.


  • FINAL ACTIVITY:


1.- Write a cake or pie recipes in English. You can take them from a cook book, the Internet..

2.- Express the ingredients in both systems: Imperial and Metric.

3.- Bake a cake and bring it to school.



Remember the six golden rules:

  • Be careful with knives and electricity.
  • Keep the kitchen clean.
  • Make sure you use the correct amounts of the ingredients.
  • Keep your hands clean.
  • Tie your hair back.
  • Recycle the rubbish separately (paper, plastic, containers, glass and organic
  • waste).
